I got an official DENIAL letter in the mail from the insurance company this weekend...soooo
Due to crazy insurance issues, we found out that the doc that I was seeing in Uvalde was not "in-network" for my insurance. (His office staff failed to tell me this at the beginning- they saved the surprise and informed me after 5 months). This is a huge issue- considering I am going to have to pay WAY MORE money to have this baby if I keep on going to him. So,I went to Pleasanton today to see a different doctor.
Okay, I am already having issues with the new guy. Number 1- he reminded me of my dad- his mannerisms, his speech, his age, his voice, his military background. Is is bad to be delivered by someone who reminds you of your dad? Number 2- He did not have boots on- the other two were delivered by a doctor wearing boots. Is this bad karma? : ) Number 3- I refer patients to him- so inevitably- I am going to be sitting in his waiting room at the same time that some of my patients will be! Another strike right?
At least, all is well so far- this little one was playing soccer with the doppler! It was fun to see her trying to say, "Get off of me!" I am measuring on the outside just like I should.
Needless to say- I am praying that my Doc in Uvalde can get in network by August 4th! (At least this is the date that I am wanting to be induced- since we live 50 miles from the hospital!) Until then- I have to sit tight and possibly have 2 doctors until the end of the pregnancy, just in case he can't get on the insurance!?!
On another note, I am so happy for some of my friends from college- Ira came home today! You can see his parent's blog at the Brooklyn and Beyond link to the right.
Thank you God for all our little miracle babies out there! And to the doctors and nurses who care for them on a daily basis, thank you for the job that you do.
