April beginnings...And bring on the showers!

I am hoping that this April will be like the rhyme-April Showers Bring May Flowers. Enough with the heat already!!

Can I say that I hate the weekend of daylight savings time? It throws the schedules off for my kids, my body and pretty much everyone that endures this phenomenon. I do like that the sun is out when I can enjoy it, but, Jake and Jillian do not understand this and last night, we almost had to tie Jake to his bed to make him go to sleep! Not fun times.

The van is no more. After 169,000 miles of faithfulness for the most part, the 17 miles to the gallon wasn't competitive with the non-gas guzzler 10 years younger. On Saturday, we traded it in for a Malibu Maxx. It fits 3 car seats, snugly, but safely, which was an added bonus. The sticker said it gets 30 MPG, but 28.9 will do too. At least I may not be paying so much at the pump with all the traveling that I do! Needless to say, the trailblazer is going to get a rest for the time being because it was about to turn 100,000 miles and in the past year, we had put close to 60K on it. NOT GOOD! We are going to save it for the long road trips and short commutes.

Jake has finally mastered the bike with training wheels! I will try to post some video of "Batman" on his bike! We rode to the high school and the middle school and back to the house last night. You would have thought that it wore him out, but he was up till almost midnight!

New stats on Jake and Jillan- Jake is now officially 42in tall and 40 lbs. and Jillian is 36 inches tall and 27 pounds. She is still quite the featherweight!

We are having fun. All pretty much healthy for now. Baby # 3 is well on her way! Still trying to pick out a name for her. Oh the dilemma of it all!

Ditto on the feelings about daylight savings time. The person who came up with it must not have a grumpy five year old who needs her sleep. Kali looked at me like I was crazy this morning when I woke her up and Megan wasn't much better. I am hoping for a nap when they get off the bus in a bit!

Surgery is scheduled for 7:30am. Pray for us :)

Also, I think you should name Baby #3

Jane Anne Leggett

Sounds good to me! :)

Rebecca- I am not sure if you will remember me- I found your blog through a comment you made on Joe and Laura's and I've been catching up with your family. What sweet children you have! And how exciting to be expecting your third. I also have two boys and one on the way (through adoption) and I'm married to a Jeff. It is good to catch up on the lives of old friends. -Erin (Sheppard) Lonard (from Junior Scholars)
