New year news...

Well, we are all well. Kids are growing like crazy. Jake is 6, Jillian is 4 and Jayla is 2. Jeff is in the spring semester at THS and I am working at the CHRISTUS Convenient Clinic located in the SuperWalmart in Boerne, which is 5 minutes from the house. We are all happy and I am enjoying not having to be in the car as much! I am going to try to post pics of the kids soon!

I've got time on my side again!!!

Ok, I know it has been about a year since my last post and for those faithful who have not given up on me, I am sure that I will be found out again. We are all well and healthy and in a new place AGAIN! It is a good thing though. I finally hit the wall and decided to completely slow down and quit commuting. I had a job drop into my lap and it was too good to pass up, so about a month ago, we up and moved to Boerne, TX and I love it. I am now 5 minutes from work and 30 seconds from my garage to the daycare. I am no longer in love with traveling and commuting. I am now enjoying getting to go home on my lunch break and having time to do laundry and clean the house. I am so very thankful that I can find jobs quickly and easily and there is always work and job openings everywhere. I think that I have finally found one that is going to help me be productive as both a nurse practitioner and more importantly as a wife and mother.

Jake is doing well in first grade. He has been through several changes in the past several weeks including getting glasses. He looks adorable and it made my heart feel good the other night after trick or treating without them that he asked me- "Mom, can I go put my glasses back on now?" He has only had them since Wednesday and it was so funny to hear him say after getting them- "I can't believe my eyes". Needless to say I am hearing from the back seat of the car more reading of signs going on.

Jillian and Jayla are both doing well in their new dayschool. Jayla's vocabulary since starting there has grown immensely. Jillian is also learning her letter and numbers and preparing for the preK class next year. Hard to believe this time next week I will have a 4 year old.

I am so blessed. Looking forward to the holidays and getting to see family. I hope to not go a year until my next post...

It's been a while...

So, here I am again. Watching the sunset out of my office window waiting to close the clinic for today. It's been a slow day here. I have had time to catch up on some blog reading and decided that I might need to let people know that we are okay.

Kerrville is a beautiful town to live in. We have been here since June officially and are settling in to the area. Jake is excited because he will be starting Kindergarten and become a Starkey Scorpion on Monday. Jillian is getting bigger as every day passes, and Jayla is just fun as they come! She turned 1 in July, the same weekend that my mom remarried. Harold is now an instant grandfather and father figure and we are breaking him in well!

Needless to say, we've been ultra busy. Hope it slows down soon.

So there you are. Updated and probably wanting more info. I am hoping it won't be so long between posts again.

Where does time go?

I have not been able to sit down for an extended amount of time in the past month. I barely got to post on Jillian's birthday. But I am excited because I am sitting in a different office today. I am actually in Sabinal,TX. Cute little stop on IH90 on the way to Uvalde. They have redone alot of the town recently. Dr. Uptergrove has taken over the clinic and as a perk, I am getting to do some contract work here while the PA is on vacation. Which means that even though I am working, the pace is greatly reduced and I have access to a computer and time to type for a change.

Jake and Jayla are well. Jillian has been cutting teeth and miserable for the last week or so. I took Jayla into the office for her 4 month check up. She was 16 lbs. and 26 inches long. She is wearing quite a few 12 month outfits and I bought her a pair of 12-18 month Old Navy jeans. They are only slightly big on her. Jake is still liking school. He was quite concerned because we had not gotten the Christmas tree done yet, so he and I did that last night. He had great fun because I let him pick out a new tree topper and ornaments for the tree, with some guidance. So the tree is up and he was quite excited. This is the first year that we will have to write a letter to Santa and get it in the mail. He wants legos, I want to get him something that can't be strewn all over my house! : )

Jeff took his first test towards his teaching certificate. Probably will be 3-4 weeks before we know anything. I am just working and trying to keep up!

Keep Jonathan in your prayers (Jeff's little brother) He has brain surgery (Rt. Acoustic Neuroma) at the end of this week in Dallas at Presbyterian. We are praying that he does not have any complications and that it will go smoothly. He should be there for a week and then he will be back in Abilene. We plan to be in Abilene some during Christmas.

Hope all is well in your worlds!

Happy Birthday to you...

2 years ago our lives changed again for the better. At 4:47 PM, November 8th, 2002, Jillian Reese made her entrance into our lives. She has been one of the factors in helping me to get through the death of my dad. I am so very thankful to God for sending this precious angel to us to enjoy. She is happy, healthy, loving, and all girl! You can't help but smile at her! You can see why below...

Happy Birthday sweet girl!!! We love you very, very much!

And the silence is over...

Yeah, so I am a loser. It's been over 2 month since I have posted. She is now 2 months old. We go for our 2 month check-up later this week and she has to be close to 12 pounds or more. I am able to put her in some of her 6 months clothes! Anyways, having 3 is a challenge that we are having fun experiencing. Jeff and I feel overwhelmed at times with the "controlled chaos".

But the most endearing part is when we watch them all sleep. Or when Jake and

Jilly are lovingly playing together. Good times.

So here they are...

She's here...

After 22 hours of labor, Jayla Elisabeth Leggett arrived at 1237 AM on Saturday, July 22, 2006. She weighed in at 8 lbs. 11 ozs. and was 20 in. long. She is a very quiet and peaceful baby thus far. Brother and sister are excited to have her here. We are just happy she was healthy and early! (especially me!)

Thank you God for our newest blessing.
